Happy New Year Wino’s!
Are you ready to rumble in 2012? Well the “A” Team is! We have been enjoying this beautiful weather, so as we bottle our 2012 Vintage wines this week we are basking in the sun. Believe me, whenever we schedule a bottling run in February I worry about a whole bunch of wet cardboard boxes. Speaking of boxes, this year we have new printed Armida case boxes and they are very fancy. All futures buyers will receive their futures in one onFebruary 18th. Wino’s, if you have never participated in ourfutures program you should come to Barrel Tasting Weekend on either of the first two weekends in March. Follow the newvintages from barrel to bottle. Details are inside and don’t miss out on all the fun!
I know that many of you are not 49er fans and that is not a prerequisite to be in our wine club. We actually have many fine Cowboy fans and Cheeseheads who are loyal Wino’s. I know this because for years they have reminded me of their many Super Bowls. Speaking of Super Bowls, oh baby did the 9ers get close this year! I want to thank all of our visitors who came up to our annual “Tailgate Party” and watched the games with us. We had a blast! We used our new upstairs hospitality area for Wino’s Only and my good friend Danny Garcia made some killer pork sliders for all of us.
I just feel good about this upcoming year. I don’t know what it is, but I feel the vibe. Maybe it’s the beautiful sunshine we’ve been having keeping the bones warm and the golf swing loose. The weather also allowed us to prune the vineyard and mow the weeds making the view as good as it can be. We are still doing improvements on the property to enhance the Armidaexperience, and now have a private area that you can reserve for a large group or private party. Also, don’t forget about the beautiful guest cottage that is available for wine club members only.
Drum roll please…..it is my pleasure to introduce a new member of the A Team. Sara Harrie is Armida’s new Direct toConsumer Manager and will be here to assist all wine club members with anything you need. So Wino’s, you can call or contact her at sara@armida.com for all your wine club questions. We are very excited to have her here and I can’t wait for you to meet her.
Big Bro Steve and I are so grateful for your continued support and we hope to see you soon.
All the best,
Bruce

ArmidaWinery
Since 1994, owners, operators, brothers and partners, Steve and Bruce Cousins have transformed Armida Winery from a quiet producer of good wines into a much livelier place focusing on artisan, single-vineyard wines from the top growers in Sonoma County.
We hand-craft over ten different wines and feature some of the best vineyards in California, including Maple Vineyards Zinfandel and Maple Vineyards Tina’s Block (perhaps California’s BEST Zinfandel vineyard), Durell Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Parmelee-Hill Pinot and Zinfandel, Bacigalupi Pinot Noir, Castelli Knight Pinot Noir, and Dutton Chardonnay. From our seven-acre estate vineyard we produce Il Campo (“Field Blend”), a delicious combination of Zinfandel and Petite Sirah.
While we make seriously great wine the focus at Armida is FUN!, which is one of the reasons we also produce poizin (Zinfandel) “The Wine to Die for,” and ANTIDOTE (Pinot Grigio). We invite you to the winery to try our wines and our warm, friendly hospitality. If so inclined you might want to bring along lunch or an early dinner to enjoy on the large patio as you take in the hillside views of the Russian River Valley, or perhaps play Bocce Ball on the court between the patio and the pond.
Beginning in June, 2011, we are remodeling and dramatically expanding the hospitality areas of the winery. We are creating a number of intimate venues, inside and outside, for winemaker dinners, food and wine pairings, picnics and private tastings. Many of these areas will be exclusive to wine club members. We are quite excited about these changes and will post updates and pictures as the work begins.
We hope to see you soon!
